Golden Apple Award
As I am sure many of you have heard, Murray Language Academy's own Ms. Elizabeth Luna was selected as a recipient of the Golden Apple Award. Governor Pat Quinn came to the school on Wednesday, May 9th to personally present Ms. Luna with the news and her award.
There was a lot of media coverage of the event, and the links below will highlight some of those stories. And a warm congratulations to Ms. Luna - we are so grateful to have you at Murray, and we applaud you for doing such a fabulous job teaching our children!

Changes
As you have probably noticed, this website has gotten a bit of an overhaul. Thanks to your successful efforts, we have a wonderful slate of representatives coming in for the 2012-2014 LSC school year. To help improve communications between the parents, community, and school, a new site has been set up for the incoming LSC where they will be able to post agendas, minutes, and meeting schedules to keep everyone on the same page. This is where you will also be able to find current LSC member profiles as well as a copy of the posts made regarding the 2012-2014 elections.
This site will remain up and running, but the focus will be on parent and community involvement. We'll try and keep you updated with educational resources, service opportunities, and link to other organizations supporting Murray. Stay tuned, and we look forward to working with you!
UPDATE 5/15/2012: After looking over the official Murray Local School Council page on the Murray website, it was decided that having yet another LSC site would be a redundancy. So I have taken down the previously linked page and am instead linking to the official LSC page. Please stay tuned to that page for any updates on agendas and meeting times. Thanks!
